WorldPay Review

Overview

WorldPay was a key player when internet payments first became a reality around 1994. WorldPay is a British company and has been around since 1989, but it was the provision of internet payments five years later that really put the company on the map.

WorldPay came to America in 2001, and chose Atlanta as the place for their US headquarters. The company processes payments all over the world, so it is not surprising that it is also one of the largest processors in the world. In terms of American market share, WorldPay is one of the biggest players, along with the likes of Chase Paymentech and Cayan (formerly known as Merchant Warehouse).

WorldPay has one of the most complete product ranges of any merchant account provider, and has different solutions for small, medium and large organisations which is perfect.

Verdict:

WorldPay is one of the biggest payment processing companies in the world, and it is also one of the best. The rates and fees they offer are up there with the best in the business. The pricing model is also incredibly clear and easy for merchants to understand. They are transparent and fair. What more could you want from your merchant account provider?

The only negative thing about WorldPay is they attach a cancellation fee to some contracts. However, there is a strong chance you can get this waived. And because WorldPay offers such great prices and a high standard of service it is unlikely you will want to cancel anyway.

WorldPay is certainly one of our top recommended credit card processors. For businesses looking for a large payment processor with an established presence in the market and a fantastic reputation there are few better options.
