7 Inspiring Instagram Accounts By Entrepreneurs

Kevin Systrom

Our list of inspiring Instagram accounts begins with the founder of Instagram himself, Kevin Systrom, and this picture of his visit to the Vatican to see the Pope’s first Instagram post. The image shows just how far his ‘community’ and vision have reached.

Systrom founded Instagram in October 2010 and the online photo sharing service already has 500 million monthly active users. Pope Francis now has 2.9 million followers on his Instagram account @franciscus. He still has quite a way to go to catch up with Selena Gomez, who is now the most followed celebrity on Instagram, with over 103 million followers.

Sheryl Sandberg

Sheryl Sandberg posts a lot of images of inspirational women and female achievements, including Malala Yousafzai and fellow entrepreneur Arianna Huffington. This recent picture taken at the Ghostbusters premier and the accompanying caption shows Sheryl’s belief in the importance of equal representation.

Sandberg often captions her Instagram pictures with #LeanIn, referring to her bestselling book and social movement of the same name. Lean In is a platform for women to support each other in their careers. The leanin.org page is full of tools, videos, and articles to support and inspire female success in business and across all industries.

Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, is next on our list with her quote about the importance of sleep. Ariana started the #sleeprevolution movement which aims to show why entrepreneurs, employees, parents – everyone – need to look after their bodies and get the right amount of sleep.

Ariana’s book titled ‘The Sleep Revolution’ became a national bestseller and gained praise from some of the most respected entrepreneurs, medical professionals and university chancellors in the country. Lack of sleep can have a detrimental effect on your home and work life. Learn more about how sleep can make or break your career.

This adorable candid photo of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and daughter, Max, with the caption ‘Most rewarding job I've had’ inspires us to take a step back from targets and profits and remember what is truly important in life.

This image is currently Zuck’s most liked Instagram post, with thousands of people double-tapping on this sweet father-daughter moment. Zuckerberg’s Instagram is full of inspirational moments including his first meeting with Barack Obama, and his introduction of the next generation of Facebook interns. Of course, all of these posts are interspersed with many pictures of his Hungarian Sheepdog, Beast, because even billionaire entrepreneurs know that Instagram is really about pictures of your pets!

Richard Branson

Richard Branson is a strong advocate for ethical business – and he’s not afraid to put his money where his mouth is. It is inspiring to see an entrepreneur have so much success without compromising on morals or ethics.

Branson’s Instagram feed is full of inspirational quotes like this – so much so that it was hard to pick just one! From opening his first Virgin record stores in 1972 to owning a company with around 30 subsidiaries, 50,000 employees and an estimated £15 billion annual revenue, Branson has years of entrepreneurial wisdom, which he happily shares with his 1 million followers.

Tom Anderson

Tom Anderson, a.k.a MySpace Tom, uses his Instagram to show the benefits of working hard and following your dreams early in life. Tom’s feed is full of stunning images from his travels, just like this one. As his bio says, ‘retired and taking photos’ – not bad for someone just 45 years old.

MySpace was founded in 2003 by Tom and Chris DeWolfe. They reigned as the kings of social media for an impressive 5 years until a little known site called Facebook took over. Despite this, MySpace has left Anderson with an impressive $60 million net worth, proving that a winning idea can mean big bucks even if it doesn’t last forever.

Oprah Winfrey

No inspirational entrepreneur list would be complete without Lady O. Oprah is an inspiration for millions of people – especially her 6.7 million instagram followers who were the first to know about this amazing achievement. By partnering with Starbucks to create the #TeavanaOprahChai, Oprah helped to raise $5 million for Girls Inc and other organisations that support youth education around the world.
