Businesses no longer need to rely on employees filling and sealing envelopes by hand. The Bell and Howell Pinnacle is a computer controlled inserting machine that can be run by just one operator.
The touchscreen control uses simple icons and graphics that are easy to understand, and the entire job can be controlled via this screen.
The Bell and Howell Pinnacle can turn over eleven thousand cycles per hour and can handle any envelope size from 3.25" x 6" to 6.25" x 9.5".
Insert sizes can range from anywhere between 3" x 5.5" through to 6" x 9". This machine is perfect for short to mid length runs.
If the Pinnacle misses or doubles up on anything, it will register the error and send that particular envelope and insert to a different part of the machine for inspection. This is called 'control diverting'.
The operator can program the machine to divert an envelope at any point, so that they can inspect the rogue items without having to halt the process.
This is useful for quality control and to ensure the correct items are being collated and inserted into each envelope.
The Backup Hopper feature lets the operator use more than one hopper for the same insert so that when the first hopper runs out of material, the next one will automatically activate itself to keep the cycle going.
The machine is safe and will stop working when any of the covers are opened. It is also self-calibrating and self-adjusting.
The gripper arms calibrate themselves to the combined thickness of the inserted materials.
The Bell and Howell Pinnacle has a flap opening system for envelopes which uses an air jet system to reduce any jams in the machinery.
The envelopes are then sealed with a controlled spray of moisture.
About the Manufacturers
Bell and Howell have been in existence since 1907 and their headquarters are in Wheeling, Illinois. Bell and Howell have stopped manufacturing the Pinnacle and now offer it as a recommissioned model only. This means that you would be getting a pre-owned machine that has been restored to new condition for less than the original value.
